Commodity expert Adiya Mishra told The Hindu Business Line that prices of a few ingredients have dropped but there has been no major impact on the production cost. Soya meal, the key ingredient, has been ruling in a tight range and any major fall in price is unlikely, he said. Other ingredients such as bajra and corn are also ruling easy. Ingredients may continue to rule without much fluctuation, said market sources.Demand for feed products is likely to improve after Diwali, Mishra said. In the physical market, soyameal dropped by Rs 100 to Rs 32,800 a tonne while Bajra eased by Rs 200 and sold at Rs 12,000 a quintal. Di-calcium phosphate sold at Rs 34.60 a kg, MBM sold at Rs 30 a kg, while Maize dropped by Rs 10 and went for Rs 1,470-1,500 a quintel. DRB went further down by Rs 300 and sold at Rs 10,200 a quintel while rice bran oil was at Rs 59 a kg. Mustard de-oiled cake went down by Rs 200 and sold at Rs 14,500 a tonn. Broiler concentrate quoted at Rs 1,960 for a 50-kg bag while broiler starter mash sold at Rs 1,500 for a 50-kg bag. Pre-lay mash sold at Rs 1,025 for a 50-kg bag. “Layer concentrate 25 per cent” sold at Rs 1,465 while “Layer concentrate 35 per cent” was at Rs 1,150 for a 50-kg bag. Meanwhile, chick and broiler dropped on higher supplies while egg improved on increased off-take on Saturday. Broiler eased by Rs 12 and was at Rs 54-56 a kg, Egg went up by 22 paisa and was at Rs 3.30, while Chick went for Rs 20-21, down by Rs 5.
